Nicholas is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Music.

Credits as Musical Supervisor include: Aspects of Love (Lyric Theatre); Tina – The Tina Turner Musical (London, Broadway, Hamburg, Utrecht, Stuttgart and Sydney); Hairspray (Australia); Follies (National Theatre); Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Broadway and US Tour); Peepshow (Lyric Hammersmith) and Kate Bush: Before the Dawn (Hammersmith Apollo).

Credits as Musical Director include: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Broadway and US Tour); Gypsy (Chichester Festival Theatre and Savoy Theatre); Sweeney Todd (Chichester Festival Theatre); Sister Act (London Palladium); Hairspray (Shaftesbury Theatre); Billy Elliot (Victoria Palace); Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (London Palladium) and Victoria Wood – At It Again (Royal Albert Hall and UK Tour).

Cast recordings include: Tina – The Tina Turner Musical (Producer); Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Broadway cast album); Gypsy (London Cast Recording); Sweeney Todd (London Cast Recording) and Sister Act (Original Cast Recording).

Nicholas had a long-standing collaboration with performer and choreographer Nigel Charnock, co-founder of DV8 physical theatre. Together, their productions include: Asylum (Queen Elizabeth Hall), Affairs of the Heart (Helsinki Theatre Dance Company) and Hell Bent (international tour).

Other credits as a composer include: Quand La Guerre Sera Finie (Paris), Enchantee (Marie Oppert and the Orchestra National de Lille) and Much Ado About Nothing (Ludlow Festival).

Nicholas is the co-author of the book “The Singing and Acting Handbook – Games and Exercises for the Performer” (published by Taylor & Francis).
